Samir’s career spans the public, private and nonprofit sectors, beginning at the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard University’s Kennedy School. There, he worked with faculty, students and staff in administrative and program management roles. Samir is also a veteran of two presidential campaigns, having entered the political world in 2007 as an early operations team staffer on President Obama’s first campaign. He also ran operations for a Super PAC in Florida during the 2016 cycle. His work in the private sector includes operations, marketing and consulting roles with small businesses in industries ranging from construction, technology to professional sports.

He looks forward to partnering with organizations throughout Clackamas County and the Portland-Metro region to help local businesses thrive, increase opportunities for job seekers and ultimately grow the local economy.

He holds a BS from Northeastern University and an MBA from Babson College F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business.

Fun Fact: He enjoys traveling, both at home and abroad, and has been to every state except Hawaii and North Dakota. And – the greatest day of his career was a couple of hours spent on a cold day in Iowa knocking on doors with Marian Robinson (First Lady Michelle Obama’s mother) who would warmly ask voters “Would you please vote for my son-in-law for President of the United States?”
