The Columbia-Willamette Workforce Collaborative (CWWC) is a partnership that delivers a unified approach to serve industry, support economic development, and guide public workforce investments in the Portland-Vancouver Metropolitan area. 
 
We work with industry to create “sector strategies” to identify and remove barriers that stand in the way of cultivating and sustaining a skilled workforce in the sectors of Manufacturing, Healthcare, Technology , Childcare and Early Learning, and Construction. Under the guidance of local companies, we developed this three-point plans to address workforce challenges in Healthcare for the Portland-Metro Region.

Healthcare Sector Data Report

By examining labor market intelligence (such as the data contained in this report) and vetting the information with business partners, we are able to better understand industry trends, identify current and emergent workforce needs, and develop customized solutions for each sector.

The healthcare sector includes hospitals, offices of physicians, dentists, and other healthcare providers, such as outpatient health clinics (ambulatory care), nursing and residential facilities. With more than 120,000 jobs and a payroll over $10 billion, healthcare accounts for 10% of the PVMA’s private-sector employment and 10% of payroll. The healthcare sector contributed approximately $11.1 billion to the metro area’s Gross Domestic Product in 2021; 10% of all output.
