Celebrating Workers This May Day: Every Job Matters | Bridget Dazey, Executive Director

Every year on May Day, we celebrate the contributions of workers across all industries and skillsets. As a leader of a local workforce board, I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge the incredible diversity within our community’s workforce.

From the cashiers keeping our stores stocked to the construction workers building our future, from the teachers shaping young minds to the sanitation workers keeping our streets clean – every job matters. A strong, thriving community relies on a robust ecosystem of labor, and every role plays a vital part.

Here at Clackamas Workforce Partnership, we are committed to supporting people in the workforce. Whether you’re seeking your first job, navigating a career change, or looking to upskill for a promotion, our system offers resources and programs to help you achieve your goals.

This May Day let us celebrate the dedication and hard work of everyone who contributes to our local economy.

Here are some ways we can all show our support:

  • Thank a worker: Take a moment to express your appreciation for the service someone provides.
  • Support local businesses: By patronizing local shops and restaurants, you’re directly supporting the livelihoods of your neighbors.
  • Advocate for fair working conditions and quality jobs: Speak up for policies that promote safe and healthy workplaces with fair wages and benefits.

Together, we can create a thriving economy and community where everyone can succeed.

Happy May Day!
