Gordon Harvey

Construction Manager - General Sheet Metal

Major Professional Accomplishment:
In the last 1990’s, I traveled from Portland to Milwaukee Wisconsin and successfully led the crew that completed the HVAC ductwork and equipment installation in the new Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Stadium, Miller Park. This was an extremely large and complex project that was additionally challenged by a catastrophic crane collapse that delayed the project for more than a year.

Describe your values and how they inform your involvement in Workforce Development:
I have always enjoyed helping people find meaningful employment in the sheet metal industry and witnessing their personal & professional growth. I initially became involved with the CWP because of the construction industries challenges in finding solutions to increasing diversity & inclusion. CWP combined two of my passions, the craft that I have been a part of for thirty-four years and helping people in the community find opportunity.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
I’ve given this a lot of thought and I don’t believe that I would want a superpower. It seems that having a superpower could make a lot of things really easy and potentially solve a lot of problems, but it would also take away from all of the challenges in life that make us who we are. I believe that growing personally from the struggles we face in life & finding ways to be grateful is a superpower of its own.
